What is Save the Question?

Welcome to Save The Question. I am not sure if this idea is already out there. I wasn't sure, so I thought I'd start this blog/consortium on a whim. You know those trivia questions that are usually sponsored that appear at some point during almost every local telecast (and sometimes during national telecasts, and radio broadcasts) of a professional or college sporting event? Well, I wanted to give people a place to post all of those questions. Also, if you see an announcer point out a fun fact from their notes, or the media guide, send that along too, if you think it would make a good trivia question. Impress friends, family and coworkers with your vast knowledge of your favorite sport or team.

Here's how it works. Pretty simple, really. Every time you see a trivia question/interesting anecdote during a telecast, send me an email at samuel.leroy1985@gmail.com with the question and answer in the body of the email, and the team and date in the subject heading. A sample email might look like this:

Subject: CELTICS- 4/20/09

Text:
Q: Who was the first NBA player to score 60 points in a playoff game?
A: Elgin Baylor, 1962

And, at the end of each day, I will clear my inbox, and post all of the questions that were made available to me that day. Pretty simple right? I'll post the listing first by sport (MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL, NCAAF, NCAAB), then in alphabetical order by team. Also, I will do my best to tag as many relevant factors (ie: teams and players) as time will allow.

Well, let's see if this works.

  1. Cool idea, Sammy. Good luck with this. I'll bookmark and send over anything I see.
